HOLIDAY, FESTIVE SPECTACLES AS AN OBJECT OF DISSERTATION RESEARCH BY UKRAINIAN SCIENTISTS

Abstract

The article analyzes the main directions of research of the holiday, holiday spectacles and related phenomena (rituals, customs, songs, rituals, etc.) in the dissertation research of Ukrainian scientists – representatives of the social sciences and humanities.

Research methodology. To achieve the goal of the study, such general scientific methods as analysis, synthesis, generalization, etc. were used. Methodological tools of source, historical, cultural and systematic approaches were also used.

Results. Almost all dissertation research of Ukrainian culturologists, historians and art critics, in particular in the field of theory and history of culture, is devoted to the features, various aspects and elements of calendar and ceremonial holidays of Ukraine – rituals, customs, songs, folk games and more. It is noteworthy that among them the predominance of studies of regional wedding ceremonies. Unfortunately, there are not enough works of purely general theoretical cultural orientation, among which, in particular, one of the last – L. Babushka's doctoral dissertation «Festival of cultural creativity as a globalization and alterglobalization projects» on modern transformations of festivity and cultural creativity.

Novelty. For the first time in Ukrainian culturology, attention is paid to the main areas of research of the holiday and related holiday phenomena (rituals, customs, songs, rituals, etc.) in the Ukrainian humanities.

The practical significance. The results of the research can be used in further scientific and theoretical research of the holiday, holiday spectacles and their transformation in the socio-cultural conditions of today.
