HOLIDAY IN THE MODERN SPACE URBAN CULTURE: THE QUESTIONS OF ARTISTIC AND SOCIO-CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE

Abstract

The article is devoted to substantiating the essence of the evolutionary transformations of artistic and socio-cultural significance of the holiday in the space of modern urban culture. This can be considered a conditional rooting of the latest trends of its «reformatting» from the standpoint of the characteristics of the modern cultural situation. The blurring of the boundaries between the everyday and festive spheres becomes fundamentally tangible, leads to a loss of exclusivity and sacred meaning of the festive event, turns into absurdity at the value-semantic level.The author considers the principles of organizing the artistic content of the holiday project as an integral form in the context of the classical understanding of comedy and tragedy, which boils down to a special theatrical action, to historical sources of theatricality as such. In addition, the author interprets the potential of the cultural resource of the holiday and substantiates as an effective socio-cultural mechanism.
