THE CRISIS OF EUROPEAN MULTICULTURALISM IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL CHALLENGES
Abstract
The key threats and challenges faced by the global community in the context of globalization are analyzed. One of the challenges is the demographic crisis and external migration, which is especially relevant for European countries. It is pointed out that the factor that stimulated migration to Europe, especially from the Third World countries, is the shortage of cheap labor. It is noted that various models of multiculturalism are used to adapt migrants. It is pointed out that the most widespread model of liberal multiculturalism is to maintain and develop the diversity of cultural practices and to ensure the equal existence of the respective cultural groups. Accentual attention is drawn to the use of certain models of multiculturalism for the integration of refugees into a healthy life.
